Avita Yoga Teacher Certification — Essentials

October 25, 2026—April 10, 2027

This yoga teacher training is rich in practical theory, anatomy, physiology, and practice. It contains the essential ingredients for understanding and sharing the healing aspects of Avita Yoga. The aim is to fill our toolbox with practical tools, which means we heal ourselves as we learn to help others. The physical part of the training addresses restrictions, injuries, and unhelpful patterns, while the spiritual components of the program help open the mind and unwind the limitations of the past, so we can be truly helpful.

This hybrid program is delivered through two 6-day in-person intensives, each separated by 5 months of online practice, during which we meet on the second Saturday of each month to share insights, answer questions, and refine practice and teaching skills.

Essentially, we meet for a week in late October to dive deep into practice and theory. Then we have 5 months to apply and practice what we have learned. There will be a guided online practice and up to 5 hours of theory, anatomy, and physiology. We close with a final week together in-person to practice teaching, anchor the knowledge, and graduate. Both in-person weeks are held at the Himalayan Institute in Honesdale, PA, just a few hours northwest of New York City.

It’s the perfect combination of learning and integration. Upon graduation, you will have the necessary skills to teach Avita Yoga and will receive a teaching certificate of completion.

Early-bird special! Save $300 on tuition if registered by July 1st!

It’s a place where friendships form naturally, often becoming the kind of connections that feel like family, and last a lifetime.
Rest in Nature
Nestled in the rolling hills of the Poconos, the Himalayan Institute’s 400-acre campus offers breathtaking views, scenic hiking trails, and quiet spaces for reflection and contemplation. Walking is a favorite activity, whether along our groomed trails or meandering paved roads, inviting both movement and mindful presence in nature.
Conscious Simplicity
At the Himalayan Institute, we embrace simplicity in all aspects of life, from our surroundings to our approach to yoga. By minimizing distractions, we create space to strengthen the inner self and quiet the mind. Guided by authenticity and grounded in philosophy rather than frills, we support a path of meaningful personal growth.
Treat Yourself
Our Himalayan Café serves the Institute’s signature chai, coffee, and homemade cookies and treats on Saturday and Sunday mornings. The 24/7 Tea Lounge offers a variety of herbal teas for anytime enjoyment.
