Program Calendar

Join Lorelei and Cat for a unique and rich weekend to celebrate the Chinese New Year — as we honor and embody the spirit of the Horse. You’ll have the opportunity to experience the ancient and powerful practices of both Yoga and Qi Gong during this retreat.

Lorelei will teach two different Qi Gong forms. One is a unique and fun Taiji Fan workshop. Taiji or Tai Chi Fan practice improves physical strength, flexibility, mobility, balance, and mental well-being. This well-known Taiji Fan form is widely practiced in China to promote health. Fans will be provided.

A second Qi Gong practice will include White Crane Soft Qi Gong . This form is a combination of graceful and gentle movements with a focus on internal alchemic work to generate the heart, lung Qi, as well as enhancing kidney vitality.

Cat will be leading a yoga practice, focusing on simple yet powerful breathwork techniques to help our energy rise from the base of the spine to the crown of the head. The physical yoga practice will include a gentle yoga flow to help build stability and strength as well as flexibility and ease in the body. Cat will also be guiding two different meditations. One is a journey through the chakras , the 7 subtle energy centers in our bodies that are connected to the balance and integration of our spiritual, physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Cat will also lead a Yoga Nidra with intention setting and time for journaling and self-reflection.

There will be an extended break on Saturday to offer you time to rest and integrate our practices.

You will have the exciting and special opportunity on Saturday evening to watch Lorelei perform a White Crane Qi dance with live music by Jason Smeltzer and a special treat of learning about Chinese Astrology with Mark Reinhart. Lorelei has been a professional modern dancer for decades and was part of the first modern dance company in China in the 1980s.

On the final day of the retreat, we will integrate a grounding and deeply relaxing yin yoga practice with Shiatsu healing as Cat and Lorelei teach together and celebrate the power of being in community together.

You will register for your room at the Himalayan Institute directly with them and you can register for the retreat on Lorelei’s website listed below.

Early Bird special price before November 1 is $329 for the weekend.

The price will be $349 after Nov 1, 2025
