Overview

Harvest Moon Festival at Sunset Pond

As summer fades and autumn begins, gather with family, friends, and neighbors for a truly special evening at the Himalayan Institute’s Harvest Moon Festival. Set against the glowing waters of Sunset Pond and our apple orchard, this beloved fall celebration invites you to slow down, savor the season, and enjoy the simple pleasures that make autumn unforgettable.

As the sun sets and the harvest moon rises, the campus comes alive with music, laughter, and the warmth of community. This is the kind of evening that becomes a memory families return to year after year.

Celebrate the Season Together

Wander through the orchard for family friendly apple picking, take part in old fashioned apple cider making, and enjoy fresh cider tastings throughout the evening. Warm apple crisp prepared on site fills the air with the unmistakable scent of fall, while apple inspired mocktails add a festive touch for all ages.

Children can explore, play, and experience hands-on harvest traditions, while adults relax, reconnect, and enjoy the beauty of the season unfolding around them.

Music, Firelight, and Community Spirit

Live bluegrass music sets the tone for a relaxed and joyful evening by the water. Gather around the bonfire to share stories, laugh with friends, and soak in the glow of firelight beneath the rising moon. Whether you come with family, meet neighbors, or make new friends, this festival is about being together in a way that feels easy and genuine.

Visit the mobile café and bookstore for seasonal treats and Himalayan Institute favorites as you enjoy the crisp autumn air.
