Featuring: Instructors from HI Honesdale and HI Buffalo — Greg Capitolo (HI’s President), Mary Gail Sovik, Tracy Draksic, Julia Davis-Voss, and Kirtan (live music) with Nema Nyar

Join your friends from HI Buffalo for a no-tricks, all-treats Halloween weekend at the Institute’s main campus and retreat center in Honesdale, PA, voted the #1 Retreat Center by USA Today for three consecutive years.

Our trips to the Poconos are always extraordinary, but this year promises to be even more incredible. Just being on HI’s serene 400-acre wooded campus is good for the soul—being in nature, exploring the walking and hiking trails, sitting by the pond, meditating in the Sri Vidya shrine, enjoying healthy, freshly prepared vegetarian meals, perhaps getting a massage, and let’s not forget the Moka coffee and chocolate factory! But that’s just the beginning. Nourish – Ground – Restore – that’s what this getaway is all about, and we have a fantastic ensemble of teachers and programs to help us achieve just that.

Surrounded by a supportive community, our weekend together features reflective discussions, guided asana (suitable for all levels), breathwork, and relaxation to cultivate a deep sense of calm and well-being. Enjoy “mocktails” upon arrival, kirtan (live music) on Saturday night, and a magical closing fire ceremony on the Sound of Music Hill (weather permitting).

Points to ponder:
  • How do we restore and maintain our vibrant nature, regardless of life’s circumstances?
  • What are we not seeing because we’re seeing what we’re seeing? (It’s a conundrum!)
  • Where can we soften to gain more clarity and strength?

…Answers to these questions and more will be revealed at this retreat! Join us, won’t you?

Tuition: EARLY BIRD $199 (plus accommodations) when you register by September 30, 2025
(save $50—regular price: $249). Booked with HI Buffalo

Rest in Nature
Nestled in the rolling hills of the Poconos, the Himalayan Institute’s 400-acre campus offers breathtaking views, scenic hiking trails, and quiet spaces for reflection and contemplation. Walking is a favorite activity, whether along our groomed trails or meandering paved roads, inviting both movement and mindful presence in nature.
Conscious Simplicity
At the Himalayan Institute, we embrace simplicity in all aspects of life, from our surroundings to our approach to yoga. By minimizing distractions, we create space to strengthen the inner self and quiet the mind. Guided by authenticity and grounded in philosophy rather than frills, we support a path of meaningful personal growth.
Treat Yourself
Our Himalayan Café serves the Institute’s signature chai, coffee, and homemade cookies and treats on Saturday and Sunday mornings. The 24/7 Tea Lounge offers a variety of herbal teas for anytime enjoyment.
