“Immerse yourself in the beauty of nature as you nourish mind, body, and soul on a Lifepath Yoga, Ayurveda & Hiking Retreat”

In this program, you experience:
  • Friday evening Gentle Asana & Meditation to enable you to wind down from the week and acclimate to being on Retreat.
  • Daily Yoga Classes taught by Maria specifically designed to bring you to balance according to the Ayurveda Season of the Year (cooling/rejuvenating practices in Summer; grounding/nurturing practices in Autumn; energizing practices in Winter/Early Spring)
  • Saturday evening Restorative Asana, Pranayama & Yoga Nidra (powerful relaxation practice with guided meditation)
  • A Mindful Hike on the Retreat Center’s groomed forested Red Trail incorporating energy practices (qigong), asana, and meditations along the path
  • Sunday morning Qigong (Energy Practice) on The Sound of Music Hill
  • Ayurveda Lectures & Discussions: Each participant will have the opportunity to complete a questionnaire to determine their unique constitution (“dosha” in Sanskrit).
Ayurveda lectures will focus on:
  • Fundamentals of Ayurveda: the five elements and the three doshas
  • Understanding your Ayurveda Constitution/dosha
  • Health conditions that may arise from an imbalance in your unique constitution/dosha
  • Food — the six tastes/general dietary guidelines to bring balance to your constitution/dosha
  • The Ayurveda Clock: looking at the 24-hour day, seasons of the year, and the seasons of life from an Ayurveda perspective; discussions on lifestyle practices to promote balance according to the age-old Ayurveda Clock

Sacred Space
The Sri Vidya Shrine is the spiritual heart of the Himalayan Institute. This sanctuary offers an ideal setting for silent meditation and group spiritual practice, a cornerstone of the Himalayan Tradition for thousands of years. Open to seekers of all backgrounds and traditions, the Shrine provides a serene, sacred space for meditation, quiet reflection, prayer, and contemplation.
Nourishing Meals
Our nutritionally balanced vegetarian meals are thoughtfully prepared to nourish body, mind, and spirit. Each of our three daily meals is designed to be easily digestible and to support a meditative lifestyle. Sharing meals here naturally fosters connection, offering both deep nourishment and a sense of community.

Walking is a favorite activity, whether along our groomed trails or meandering paved roads, inviting both movement and mindful presence in nature.

Our Himalayan Café serves the Institute’s signature chai, coffee, and homemade cookies and treats on Saturday and Sunday mornings. The 24/7 Tea Lounge offers a variety of herbal teas for anytime enjoyment. On campus, the MOKA Origins Factory is open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., offering handcrafted, ethically sourced chocolate and coffee, with free tours and tastings on Saturdays.
