McLoughlin Scar Tissue Release (MSTR®)
According to research, almost 50% of the world’s population has some kind of scar, either from surgery, disease, or trauma. Thickened tissue caused by scarring binds together layers of fascia, impeding the flow of blood, lymph, nerve function and range of motion. Because fascia is one piece throughout the body, the presence of a scar in one place may disrupt the body’s function in another. According to researchers Karel Lewit MD and Sarka Olsanka: “If the scar is…untreated, it may be the cause of therapeutic failure and recurrence.” If you have clients you have been unable to help, you may find this simple and powerful protocol to be life-changing for them. Coursework will include:
- Functions of the skin
- Scar formation and its effects on the body
- Emotional/psychological aspects of a scar
- Indications and contraindications
- Client handling and intake forms
- How to treat surgical scars as well as underlying scar
- Additional ways to use MSTR®
