Living a simple and peace-filled life is what many people long for, yet often find difficult to attain amidst the noise and chaos of modern society. In this workshop, Chris Molinari will present a variety of practical and effective daily strategies, techniques, and lifestyle practices to help you create and sustain a more simplified life filled with greater peace and joy.

Cultivating a life of inner calm, increased awareness, and a clear sense of wellbeing is not difficult, but it does require consistent practice and attention. The simple practices and lifestyle changes offered in this retreat are influenced by the yogic and ayurvedic traditions, as well as modern research into the effects of listening to healing music, positive thinking, and healthy processing of negative emotions. Some of the topics that will be covered include systematic relaxation, the ayurvedic daily clock, home yoga practice, and characteristics/benefits of healing music. The retreat will also feature a practicum offered by Himalayan Institute senior faculty for students to experience instruction firsthand from a teacher that is well-practiced in the Himalayan Tradition.

At the end of the weekend, students will be peaceful and relaxed and leave well-equipped with a “tool kit” of home practices that are designed to support and maintain a more simple and peaceful life. The “tools” are practical and easy to apply, even for those with busy and challenging schedules. Outside of workshop times, students will have an opportunity to explore the beautiful 400-acre campus, meditate in the Sri Vidya Shrine and enjoy the company of other spiritual seekers.
