Bhakti yoga is the path of love and devotion; its goal is the union of the individual soul with the highest divinity. As Pandit Rajmani Tigunait explains, bhakti yoga is the most simple and straightforward way of achieving life’s purpose. On the other hand, it is the most misunderstood and confusing of all the paths. People start to wonder: Which god or goddess should I follow—one of my own culture or upbringing, a more exotic divinity, or none at all? Should I place my trust in a guru or spiritual teacher? Do the scriptures contain only the truth?

In this audio satsang (part 1 of “Bhakti Yoga: The Path of Love”), Panditji draws on the Bhakti Sutra to dispel the misconceptions regarding bhakti yoga. He presents an inspiring, refreshing take on the yoga of love that distinguishes between higher (para) and lower (apara) bhakti—and tells us how the latter will lead us to establish a relationship with God that is pure, free from doubt or blind faith, and ever-nourishing.
