True happiness is the real food of your soul. But without a peaceful mind, there is no room for mudita—true happiness described in the Yoga Sutra. Mudita arises from the foundation of upeksha—a neutral point of view and discernment. With many examples, Panditji elaborates three stages of upeksha, and delineates the transition from upeksha to mudita in our quest to develop healthy emotions and discrimination, and to purify the mind. Embodying upeksha, we move toward mudita—freedom from attachment and aversion—and a much better place from which to enjoy the diversity of life.
