What is the role of yoga and meditation practice in relation to action (karma yoga)? Krishna tells us that without methodical practice, action alone is insufficient to reach the goal of yoga. Methodical practice of yoga and meditation anchors the mind meaningfully in an inner space of clarity and stillness. Then, grounded in inner discernment, one is motivated by what is truly right, rather than by the fruits of actions. Established in inner discernment (buddhi) and free of clinging to outcomes, wisdom driven action leads us to freedom and fulfillment.
