For ages, we have been entertaining ourselves with these thrilling phrases: \u201cdefeating our inner enemies,\u201d \u201cconquering the beast,\u201d \u201cburying the past.\u201d But the reality is that these fancy words have not made much difference. Yoga means self-transformation. It happens by recognizing who we are and by settling the dispute between the negative and positive forces of our own mind. The system of yoga taught by the sages enables us to win the battle without fighting.<\/p>\n

Proficiency in the art of winning the battle is what draws the divine to this earthly plane. When this happens, we find no impetus to criticize the unwanted part of ourselves. We simply fall in love with the divine that constitutes our core. This is when the human and the divine wed each other. At this wedding, every aspect of ourselves\u2014body, mind, thoughts, feelings, emotions\u2014sing and dance in complete harmony. That is samadhi. This simple and yet profound yogic celebration is within our reach, provided we truly understand the secret of yoga.<\/p>\n
