Dick Ravizza, PhD

Dick Ravizza, PhD, is an Emeritus Associate Professor of Psychology. Although initially trained in experimental psychology and neuroscience, he much preferred teaching. He taught beginning psychology and statistics for 33 years, first at Penn State’s main campus and then at its Scranton campus. Shortly before retiring, he received Penn State’s Commonwealth College Teaching Award. Early in his career, he coauthored an experimental psychology textbook, Methods Toward a Science of Behavior and Experience, and several research articles and literature reviews in psychology and neuroscience journals. Later, he contributed articles to Yoga International magazine and, with other faculty members, taught beginning meditation seminars at the Himalayan Institute in Honesdale. He enjoys gentle workouts, photography, and daily meditation at the Himalayan Institute.
