Irina Kazakevic

Irina has been exploring the art and science of yoga and healthy living for over 20 years. Combining her knowledge of Hatha Yoga and Ayurveda, over 10 years of meditation practice as well as two decades of teaching experience, she developed an approach to creating and cultivating wellness called Well-Being Yoga.

Irina’s continual development as a teacher and practitioner has been influenced by studying with numerous teachers, including Helen Duquette, Sharon Bateman, Leah Kalish, Marsha Wenig, Katheryn Templeton, Sally Kempton, Rod Stryker, and Pandit Rajmani Tigunait.

Irina holds a Master’s degree in Education and Music. She is an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT) as well as a Registered Children’s Yoga Teacher (RCYT). Irina deepened her knowledge of Ayurveda by completing the Himalayan Yoga Institute Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist certification.

As an educator and a yoga instructor Irina has enjoyed teaching adults, teenagers, and children. Since 2008, Irina has conducted professional development workshops and Summer Institutes for teachers in Dufferein-Peel Catholic District School Board in Mississauga and private schools in Ontario. She taught workshops on children’s yoga to Ontario English Catholic Teacher Association (OECTA) and Association of Physical Educators of Quebec (APEQ).

Irina led a session on How to Teach Yoga to Children at the Toronto Yoga Festival in 2009. In every yoga class, workshop, or training Irina emphasizes the importance of the theoretical knowledge of Yoga, Ayurveda and healthy life habits and their practical application for creating vibrant health and well-being.

Irina considers herself a world citizen. Her love for travel and adventure let Irina experience the colourful cultures of India, Central Asia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Caribbean Islands, and many countries of Eastern and Western Europe.

Irina enjoys music, art, photography and spending time with her family. She believes that learning and following one’s interests are one of the main pleasures in life and should never stop. Some of Irina’s life goals include deepening her knowledge of Yoga Philosophy and Ayurveda, learning how to make exquisite music playing cello, and helping her family, friends and many others create a life of health, happiness and well-being.
