Laura Coburn

Laura began studying yoga in 2005 at the YMCA in Auburn, as a healthy way to spend time with a friend. She continued to study and in 2009 began advanced studies and teacher training. Laura completed her first 500 hours of teacher training in December of 2012. She then embarked on a Kripalu inspired teacher training with Tony Riposo and a team of teachers at the Infinite Light Center for Yoga and Wellness in Jamesville, NY and graduated in July 2013. Laura is an Infinite Light Yoga Teacher and is a certified Yoga Teacher with The Yoga Alliance (E-RYT). She is also a member of the Himalayan Institute and studies periodically at their campus in Honesdale, PA as well as through their on-line content. Continuing Education through the Himalayan Institute has included: "The Mystery and Power of Mantra" with Rolf Sovik, "Fire and Ice: Balancing the Extremes" with Shari Friedrichsen, "The Ayurvedic Kitchen: Prepping, Cooking, Serving & Enjoying" with Kathryn Templeton and Marc Demers, "The Inspired Teacher" with Shari Friedrichsen and "Ayurveda and Pranayama" with Kathryn Templeton and Sarah Guglielmi, and "Yoga for Inner Healing" with Shari Friedrichsen (March 2014). In October of 2015, Laura studied with Judith Hanson Lasater in Toronto and received her certification as a Relax and Renew® Teacher going on to assist Judith in teacher other teachers in Montreal and Rochester. Laura was named Director of Serenity for the Inns of Aurora in 2015 and help create The Loft at the Inns of Aurora in 2016. Laura is pleased to be of service to the yoga community and provide weekly classes at Eka, the yoga studio she founded in 2013.
