Mike Hayduk

Hi, my name is Mike Hayduk.

I have been practicing yoga since 1977 and upon my retirement I decided to become a certified yoga teacher. I am also certified to teach qigong and meditation. I completed my meditation training from the Mind Fitness Training Institute in 2014; my 200-hour yoga teacher training at the Yoga Connection in Tucson, AZ in 2015; my 500-hour yoga teacher training at the Himalayan Institute in Honesdale, PA in 2016; and my qigong teacher training from the Unique Healing Solution in 2017.

My philosophy is to make every yoga student: comfortable by creating a non-threatening, non-judgmental environment; confident that instructions are a safe and appropriate level according to each student's ability and experience; and calm by affording ample time at the end of each practice for systematic relaxation.

I try to expose students to repetitive practice of classic yoga poses and sequences, yet introduce enough variety to keep the classes fresh. My wish is that every student I teach will experience fun, a sense of accomplishment, and a connection to the deeper aspects of the practice of yoga.

As a veteran who deployed to Vietnam, Desert Storm, and Afghanistan I can honestly say that yoga has been a blessing to me. Yoga has helped me maintain a well-regulated nervous system to optimize performance in high- stress situations and develop the resilience to recover from stress.

When I'm not teaching yoga I enjoy reading, gardening, working out, the outdoors, traveling, movies, and painting and drawing.

I am looking forward to seeing you...on the mat.
