Tapas: The Pleasures of Self-Discipline
In Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra, tapas is identified as the third niyama, or observance. This term often carries many connotations, such as radiance, heat, burning and, perhaps most popularly, austerity. How does this notion from one of the seminal yogic texts apply in our modern day lives?
