Stephanie Chesebro

Stephanie Chesebro is a yoga and meditation teacher, and the owner of Peaceful Waters Yoga. She began practicing yoga 25 years ago as a way to decrease stress, anxiety, and insomnia. What she discovered was more than the physical and mental benefits, but also a way of life. After a career working with marginalized populations in non-profit organizations, and then in higher education, she pursued her lifelong passion of becoming a yoga teacher in 2010. Since then she has obtained 200-hr., 500-hr., and Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist certifications from the Himalayan Institute. The programs truly changed her life. Learning how to align the practice with the time of day, the seasons, and people’s unique constitutions was a game-changer. Not only did she personally begin to feel more balanced; she also saw positive results for her students.

Stephanie lives with her family in Lewiston, NY. She teaches yoga, meditation, and ayurvedic lifestyle classes virtually and locally. Her style is gentle, nourishing, and approachable for all skill levels. Through her knowledge of ayurveda, she interweaves a 5000-year-old philosophy of working with nature to balance the overall health and wellness of each individual, specializing in yoga for anxiety and stress relief.

Growing up and living near two Great Lakes and the Niagara River, Stephanie has always been drawn to water. In times of turmoil and contemplation, she often finds herself gravitating toward a lake, river, or ocean to find peace and clarity. Leading to her business’s name: Peaceful Waters Yoga.
