Wendy Landry

Wendy holds an MA, MBA, E-200 RYT & C-IAYT 1000, she received the gift of yoga in 2000. That first yoga class allowed her to reconnect with her sense of humor. Each subsequent class brought the ability to bend a little further or hold a stretch a little longer. Wendy found yoga to be physically challenging, but also very rewarding. The more classes she attended, the more she began to notice new accomplishments: better concentration, more patience with people, weight loss and an all-around positive outlook on life. Wendy also began to bring what she learned on her yoga mat into her management style at work every day.

After 10 years as a yoga student, Wendy decided to dedicate her life to the teaching of yoga and completed her 200 hour certification at the Dallas Yoga Center. Since then, she has traveled to France, Canada and throughout the United States studying under Anodea Judith, Nischala Joy Devi, Francois Raoult and Judith Hanson Lasater. Wendy is a certified Relax and Renew Trainer and a Level 1 Radiant Child Yoga Teacher. She has completed her level 1 & 2 training in Usui Reiki Natural Healing System.

Wendy studied under Nischala Joy Devi, former Director of Stress Management for developing the yoga portion of The Dean Ornish Program for Reversing Heart Disease, and co-founded the award-winning Commonweal Cancer Help Program. Wendy completed her studies and became a Yoga for the Heart: Cardiac & Cancer certified yoga teacher. This program is over a 100 hours of study in asana (yoga poses), pranayama (breath work), imagery, meditation, deep relaxation techniques, teaching methodology, anatomy & physiology as it relates directly to cardiac and cancer patients.

Wendy has experience working with both cardiac and cancer patients (pre and post op) and enjoys helping them find yoga practices that enhance their healing process.

Wendy believes that incorporating ancient yogic philosophies into managing organizational change has been an integral part in the success of her management style. Change puts employees in a defensive and fearful state. The way in which companies and managers handle these fears is the critical step in successfully implementing new ways to do business. Wendy’s ultimate goal is to create fun, team-oriented environments where people have the opportunity to bring their best to the table and make their team into a stronger part of the organization.Wendy holds an MBA in Strategic Leadership and a Masters in Counseling. She has 20 years experience working in the criminal justice system, 10 of those years as a manager. During this time, she managed the merger of two organizations.

Her experience includes the reorganization of positions and personnel, budgeting, and building strong, independent teams. She successfully developed and implemented new concepts to produce work more efficiently, including the development of mobile offices. For her work, Wendy was awarded the 2009 Administrative Office Director’s Award for Excellence in Court Operations, Washington D.C.. As an expert in conceptualizing, strategically planning and implementing new programs, Wendy has been invited to coach and mentor others around the country to support and assist in the successful implementation of organizational changes.
