In  2013, after completing the HI 500Hr Teacher Training, and AYS Certification, Maria Luisa Chea founded Yoga Sangha, RD in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, where she was born and raised.

The mission: to create community among like-minded individuals looking to improve their health and quality of life through the practice of yoga, meditation and ayurveda.

The vision: to establish Yoga Sangha, RD as a respected source for authentic, tradition based yoga classes, teacher trainings, workshops and retreats.

Three years of classes and workshops and two teacher trainings later, we are well on our way to accomplishing our goals. We have moved into our very own space, which is filled with beauty, peace and joy. Most of our teachers are trained in-house in the Himalayan Tradition, and this allows us to offer consistency and continuity in a variety of hatha classes that range from beginners to intermediate and include prenatal, children’s, gentle and restorative yoga.
