What does it mean to see yoga “through the eyes of the sages”? Yoga is the experience that enables us to see life as a continuous blossoming of the life force. Yoga teaches us how to cultivate the needs of our body and mind, and infuses us with the confidence to create our own destiny. The practices that help us become aware of the expanded nature of our consciousness—that teach us to demolish the wall that divides one individual, society, and cultural entity from another and help us discover our relationship with higher divinity—are yoga.

As yogis, we can prepare ourselves to be a wonderful part of the transformation sweeping the globe only when we can see yoga not just from the point of view of our little short-term gains, but in a much bigger way. Even 1 percent of this knowledge can bring about a great revolution in our own personal and collective healing, happiness, and empowerment.
