Meera Tigunait

Meera Tigunait has been an integral part of the Himalayan Institute for over 40 years. A botanist by education, Meera was born and raised in India into a family that was known for its knowledge of scriptures, spirituality, philosophy, fine arts, Ayurvedic cooking, and traditional medicine. Most notably, she has transmitted this knowledge as the founder of Sacred Link Jewelry, a women’s empowerment initiative of the Himalayan Institute’s humanitarian efforts in Africa, and as the guiding force behind the wonderful, balanced meals that nourish all those at the Himalayan Institute. Meera lives with her family—her husband, Pandit Rajmani Tigunait, children and four granddaughters—at the Himalayan Institute in Honesdale and Khajuraho, India.
