Laura Kraus
Accredited and certified 500RYT, certified in restorative yoga, certified pranayama and meditation instructor, and hold an MA in Anthropology. I began yoga in 1997, became certified in 2018, and have been teaching regularly since certification. In 2022, I developed a mini retreat model in which we combine restorative yoga and watercolor painting for an afternoon of personal nourishment. My personal style of teaching is to emphasize the importance of being fully present and to encourage students to let go of distractions and worries from their daily lives, instead focusing on the here and now. This approach helps cultivate a sense of inner peace and mental clarity. I guide my students to put their attention on breathing and synchronizing their breath with their movements, fostering a deeper mind-body connection. Proper breathing techniques help students release tension and find relaxation in their practice. I truly believe that we all need to nourish ourselves, emotionally and physically, and this can be achieved through the practice of yoga. When not teaching, I enjoy traveling, working at my hometown public library, and thrift/vintage shopping.
