Saumya Lauren Toolin
Saumya Lauren Toolin is one of the most senior ParaYoga teachers in the world and was initiated into the Himalayan tradition in 2001. She was a very early contributor to the Yoga International Online Class library and has been teaching yoga for more than 25 years. A certified Yoga Therapist and Ayurvedic Practitioner, she also directs her own yoga school, Yoga Vidya, in upstate New York and is guest faculty of several other teacher training programs throughout the country.
Over the years, thousands of students have been able to refine themselves, their lives, and their style of teaching through Lauren’s loving, personalized, and powerful approach to sharing the meditation, self-awareness, pranayama and advanced hatha techniques that are integral to her unique style. Her offering is multifaceted and powerfully catalyzing for personal health and growth.
Lauren’s love of all things yoga has taken her beyond the mat and studio setting. She has presented workshops at the Kripalu Center, Omega, the Himalayan Institute, and many yoga festivals and events. She taught Yoga as Medicine workshops with Dr. Timothy McCall from 2009-2013. In 2011, she founded the Women’s Liberation Festival, which celebrates positive feminine power and cultivates effective action in the world.
