Build Your Winter Solstice Retreat.
1-Day or 3-Day Experience

The Winter Solstice is a day of celebrating great stillness before the Sun’s strength builds, and days grow longer. It is a potent day to rest and reflect.

For three days around the solstice points, we experience the power of a standstill point and the shift of direction. The sun standing still is a powerful metaphor for the energy available to us at the Winter Solstice to change the direction of our lives with intention and build on this energy as we enter into the new year.

After experiencing the longest night and darkest day, the nights grow shorter and the days grow brighter until the Summer Solstice.

For today let yourself rest in the peace of darkness, knowing the changing of the season and the return of brighter days are ahead; be reminded you are always connected to Source, and your inner light never dims.

For those seeking a 1-day experience:

Join us Saturday December 18 from 9AM to 9PM.

This one-day retreat falls under the Full Moon. Experience a deep connection to yourself and nature. We will honor this day in the highest regard by opening our hearts with a cacao ceremony sourced from Moka Origins — located on Himalayan Institute property. We will learn about Shakti and how to cultivate the creative force within. This one-day retreat is special for those seeking a reset before the new year. Celebrating the Winter Solstice and the full moon is an ancient tradition that supports the great visions of our heart.

Introduction to Vishoka Meditation
Experience how Vishoka Meditation can reduce stress in your daily life. A guided relaxation with Himalayan Institute staff

Vishoka Meditation is grounded in the authentic wisdom of an ancient, yet living, tradition embodied by luminaries including Buddha, Patanjali, and a long line of Siddha masters. Drawing upon both yoga and tantra, Vishoka Meditation shares the essence of ancient source texts including the Yoga Sutra, Lotus Sutra, and Shiva Sutra.

Imagine a life free from pain and sorrow, and infused with joy and tranquility!

The ancient yogis called this state vishoka and insisted that we all can reach it. The key is a precise set of meditative techniques designed to unite the mind and breath and turn them inward, allowing us to nourish and rejuvenate ourselves on every level of our being.

Grounded in the authentic wisdom of a living tradition, the simple—yet profound—practice of Vishoka Meditation is the perfect complement to your existing yoga practice, as well as a powerful stand-alone meditation practice.

Snowshoe Description:
Connect with nature this winter! The Himalayan Institute’s 400-acre campus is located in the heart of the Poconos. Surround yourself with fresh air, friends, and fellowship as we hit the trail. Whether snowshoeing (weather permitting) or a guided hike through the woods and hills, it will be a great way to end the weekend.
