Overview

Fulfilling the basic human need to express and feel love brings us joy and happiness. In this weekend seminar, you will learn and have the opportunity to experience: spiritual love (Bhakti); emotional love (Prema); and physical love (Rati). You will be entertained with the legends of love between the Gods and Goddesses, which teach valuable lessons for daily living. You will be instructed in Mantra Japa, Hatha Yoga, Partner Yoga, and Thai Massage to feel and to balance the different forms of love.

Curriculum

Mantra Japa is the method of meditation that involves the continuous repetition of a sacred name or sound, usually while holding a mala necklace to keep count of the number of repetitions. The mala consists of 108 beads, which are moved through the fingers one at a time, each time the mantra is repeated. Japa helps the practitioner remain mentally relaxed and focused, while allowing the ego to trustfully surrender to a divine presence, in devotion and love.
Hatha Yoga is the systematic practice of asana poses, pranayama breathing, and meditation which helps us integrate our body, mind, and spirit so that we may love ourselves more fully.

Partner Yoga includes elements of hatha yoga and can be done with two people mirroring each other in the same pose while holding on to each other, or done with one person providing support or resistance for their partner who is practicing a yoga pose. It offers two people the chance to:

  • Support each other to help balance and stability
  • Provide resistance for deeper stretches
  • Give positive feedback of energy
  • Practice the dynamics of a balanced relationship
  • Help one another playfully create new poses
  • Build trust and communication

Thai Massage uses point pressure, muscle stretching, and compression. It is performed with a rhythmic movement of gentle rocking. It offers the benefits of:

  • Deep relaxation of body and mind
  • Relief from pain and muscle tension
  • Improved circulation of blood and lymph
  • Increased flexibility
  • Creating a lasting feeling of well-being
