Relax, Release, and Let It Go … at the Himalayan Institute in Honesdale, Pennsylvania. This tranquil Retreat Center is situated on 400 woodland acres in the Pocono mountains. A perfect place for spending a weekend away with our Sangha (yoga community).

From the moment that you enter the campus you will feel the pressure of the world draining away from your body. This weekend you will learn how to relax and unwind through gentle practice and guided systematic relaxation methods. Our focus will be on releasing and transforming, through asana, pranayama, and discussion. Movement and breath will inform this transformation. You will open your heart, quiet your mind, and refresh your body during the process of letting go. You will feel renewed throughout the weekend and you will learn techniques to cultivate a personal practice that is sustainable at home, so that the effects of your weekend experience will last long after you have re-entered your “everyday” life.

There are also some fun activities planned for our retreat, like a chai tea party and campfire Saturday night. You may also choose to take in the scenery, receive spa treatments at the PureRejuv Wellness Center, or visit Honesdale, either by yourself or with friends.

While we want you to get the maximum benefits from the weekend, please note that none of the programming is mandatory. You can choose how you want to spend your time while on this retreat.

The Himalayan Institute offers a variety of accommodation options, healthy vegetarian food, stunning scenery, and a calm, natural environment so you can focus on the essentials.

Cost to attend:
$210 if purchased by 10/13/18
$250 if purchased after 10/13/18

With a blend of short-term guests, long-term visitors, and a vibrant residential community, the atmosphere here is warm, inviting, and rooted in kindness, generosity, and service. It’s a place where friendships form naturally, often becoming the kind of connections that feel like family, and last a lifetime.
Rest in Nature

Walking is a favorite activity, whether along our groomed trails or meandering paved roads, inviting both movement and mindful presence in nature.
Conscious Simplicity
At the Himalayan Institute, we embrace simplicity in all aspects of life, from our surroundings to our approach to yoga. By minimizing distractions, we create space to strengthen the inner self and quiet the mind. Guided by authenticity and grounded in philosophy rather than frills, we support a path of meaningful personal growth.
Treat Yourself
Our Himalayan Café serves the Institute’s signature chai, coffee, and homemade cookies and treats on Saturday and Sunday mornings. The 24/7 Tea Lounge offers a variety of herbal teas for anytime enjoyment.
